Nei Gong is a series of movements,
originating in the Taoist tradition of China several thousand
years ago and passed down from master to student. The words
Nei Gong mean internal work or internal movements. A friend
of mine called it “gym for the organs”. The practice consists
of holding exercises called Jing Gong, during which one collects
one’s energy in the energy centre called the Dantian,(the
energy bank of the body) and of moving/dynamic/repetitive
exercises called Dong Gong, during which the energy is circulated
in the body. Nei Gong is practiced standing, sitting and
lying down. Contrary to Yoga and/or other Eastern practices,
there is no emphasis on breathing and the mind is solely
in the movement. The practice of Nei Gong helps to create
a clear mind, a healthy body and is very grounding. For more
